Located in Blue Hill, Maine, Backstage Farm is a productive one-acre of land growing a plethora of products from heirloom tomatoes to kale. This farm started when Elena Bourakovsky and Bill Raiten decided to try and grow food for themselves. But they realized their produce was so good they had to share with the community, and have been for 26 years. This farm is especially known for their preserves: kimchi, hot sauce and jams. Elena Bourakovsky brought many of the recipes over from Russia, creating delectable flavors with uncommon fruits such as golden raspberries, sour cherries, gooseberries and currents. Backstage farm also has free-range chickens, selling fresh eggs. Right now they are looking for an apprentice to share the joy in cultivating fresh produce. ”
